The International Code of Marketing Breast-Milk Substitutes has been in place since 1981 to ensure that families are able to make informed choices, free from commercial influences, about how to feed their baby (World Health Organization (WHO), 1981). However, the situation with regard to marketing of breast-milk substitutes is constantly evolving and it is imperative that health visitors keep up to date with changes as they happen (Unicef, 2018a).
