In 2017, I was privileged to be awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship (www.wcmt.org.uk). As part of the Fellowship, this Spring I was able to travel to Australia and New Zealand to explore the work of nurses in remote and rural communities. In Australia, I met with Associate Professor Julian Grant of Flinders University in Adelaide. Julian is an expert in child and family health nursing and we discussed the differences between our two countries in the ways in which we organise the support of children and family health by registered nurses and health visitors.
